The Queen Baton Rouge Unveils New Lunch Specials and Flavorful Menu Selections at 1717 KITCHEN + COCKTAILS
BATON ROUGE, La. – Dec. 11, 2023 – The Queen Baton Rouge, located at 1717 River Road N., has unveiled a variety of lunch specialties as well as several new dishes and draft beers at 1717 KITCHEN + COCKTAILS. Developed by executive chef and culinary veteran, Kevin Foil, the new selections are available now.
Lunch combos, available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, include the choice of soup served with either house or Caesar salad; chicken Caesar wrap and choice of soup; a half portion of any flatbread served with choice of house or Caesar salad; or Grown-Up Grilled Cheese and cup of tomato basil soup. Each pairing is affordably priced at $16.
Flavorful new appetizers, soups, salads and sandwiches have been added to the menu, each priced between $6-18 each. The Boudin burger, priced at just $9, is a menu-favorite and features a beef patty topped with Boudin balls, pickles, pepperjack cheese accompanied by the choice of french fries, side salad or loaded mash. Other new selections include Cajun swamp wings, fried frog legs with choice of wing sauce; alligator fritters made with local Louisiana alligator in a roasted corn batter, served with remoulade; shrimp and corn bisque, made with Gulf shrimp, roasted corn, potatoes and cream; and grilled chicken club with chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, bacon and Dijonnaise on a brioche bun; among other dishes
New entrée selections, available for lunch and dinner, include barbecue shrimp and grits, Gulf shrimp with beer BBQ sauce and smoked gouda grits; beer battered Gulf fish and seasoned fries served with tartar sauce; Creole mustard and cane syrup-glazed eight-ounce center cut pork chop accompanied by four-cheese mac and sauteed green beans; an adobo grilled 12-ounce pork tomahawk chop with roasted red pepper sauce, loaded mash and onion string; among others.
A trio of flavorful “Grown-Up Grilled Cheese” selections have been introduced, including The Cheeses, smoked gouda, brie, cheddar and muenster cheeses with bacon jam on sourdough bread; The Queen Mother, pimento, cheddar and Gruyere cheeses on sourdough bread; and The G.O.A.T. made with herbed goat cheese, lettuce, tomato and bacon on sourdough bread, each priced at $14.
Tacos, accompanied by roasted street corn, tortilla chips and house-made salsa, include three per order served in corn tortillas. Selections include the choice of mahi mahi or Gulf shrimp prepared grilled, fried or blackened and topped with green apple slaw, pickled red onion and cilantro lime crema, priced at $17; grilled chicken topped with tomato, shredded cheese and lettuce, priced at $15; and more.
A variety of locally brewed beers, along with popular domestic brews, are now available on tap for $3 each. Current selections include Abita Amber Lager and Jockamo Juicy IPA; Gnarly Barley brewing Jucifer; Urban South Brewery Holy Roller IPA; Parish Brewing Co. SIPS Pinot Noir Black Currant sour ale; and more.
