The Queen Baton Rouge’s Area Executive Chef, Kevin Foil, Wins People’s Choice Award at the American Culinary Federation New Orleans Chapter’s Best Chefs Event

BATON ROUGE, La. – April 15, 2024 – Kevin Foil, Area Executive Chef at The Queen Baton Rouge, took home the “People’s Choice” award at the American Culinary Federation New Orleans Chapter’s (ACFNO) Best Chefs of Louisiana 2024 culinary experience, held on Monday, April 8. This is Chef Foil’s second honor of the year, following his recent recognition as an ACFNO Best Chef earlier this month.

Guests at the exclusive ACFNO event were treated to one of Chef Foil’s signature dishes, a center cut pork chop glazed with Creole mustard and cane syrup, accompanied by four-cheese macaroni. This entrée, which was also presented to the award judges, captivated attendees with its bold flavors and exquisite presentation, earning Chef Foil the People’s Choice Award. The celebrated dish is a highlight of the menu at 1717 KITCHEN + COCKTAILS, the premier dining, drinking and entertainment destination located at The Queen Baton Rouge, and is available for both lunch and dinner.

“The People’s Choice Award is an honor that speaks to the heart of my culinary passion,” said Foil.  “It’s about more than just food; it’s about crafting experiences that resonate with the soul of Louisiana. My goal has always been to bring a piece of our rich cultural heritage to the table with every dish I create. I am thrilled to share this journey with our guests at 1717 KITCHEN + COCKTAILS and beyond.”

Chef Foil masterfully oversees menu and culinary operations across all restaurants at The Queen Baton Rouge. His leadership shines at 1717 KITCHEN + COCKTAILS, which opened in August 2023, where he infuses classic American favorites with inventive twists. The menu features a wide range of options, from sandwiches and flatbreads to salads, entrées, desserts and more. Spanning 5,200 square feet, 1717 offers a spacious dining room and bar with a stage for live music and other entertainment.
